JCS has received many calls asking if we can change existing fireplaces to something more efficient, either gas to wood or wood to gas.Yes in most circumstances we can.It first involves figuring out what you really expect out of your fireplace. Because of the amount of tear out a whole new look is usually constructed. There have been times when very little of the original design had to be changed, every situation is different. Some customers just want a new updated look and want to keep the fireplace they have or just simply add gas logs to their existing wood burning fireplace, but change the stone. Yes this can be accomplished. Below is a movie showing the stages of removing a low efficient wood burning fireplace and installing a new high efficient gas direct vent fireplace and a all new design. The time frame on this is typically 3 days from start to finish depending on your design. Most of our customers are pleasantly surprised in what a timely manner this can be done. All work including demolition, framing, installation of new fireplace, masonry installation, electrical and gas line installation was performed by JCS Fireplace, Inc.
